Studio
Dimitri Agnello (Carrara, 1995) lives and works between Luzern and Sarnen (CH). He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Palermo, where he graduated in Painting in 2020. His work has been exhibited in Italy and Germany.

Statement
My painting practice examines images at the threshold of their visibility, in that moment when they dissolve or disappear. The focus is on the negative of the image, which comes into being through contact, whether through natural processes or through mediating touch.

The work is directed at the conditions of seeing itself, attempting to fix the precarious appearance of a world in an in-between space where light, perspective and narrative collapse. The painted surface thus becomes a new space full of possibilities.
